AVIF to JPG Conversion FAQ

What is AVIF format?

AVIF is an open-source image format based on the AV1 video codec, developed by the AOMedia Alliance. At similar quality, AVIF files are roughly 50% smaller than JPG and about 20% smaller than WEBP. However, some older software and browsers don't yet support it.

Will quality drop when converting to JPG?

JPG uses lossy compression, so there's always some quality loss. At High quality, the difference is minimal and hard to notice. Use PNG output if you need zero quality loss.

Can I use this on my phone?

Yes. The tool runs in your browser and works on any phone or tablet.

What are the free plan limits?

Free users can convert files up to 100 MB with no watermarks. Upgrade to Pro for files up to 2 GB.

Is the conversion safe?

Yes. 256-bit encryption, EU servers, GDPR compliant. Files are deleted after processing.
